What Does McCain Believe

The recent Jenny McCarthy article in US Weekly has the following quote which I found interesting:

“We tried,” says McCarthy – who currently labels herself a Democrat. “McCain had come out and said he thinks there’s enough evidence between vaccines and autism, so I got on a helicopter [to meet him for] an on-camera interview. By the time I got there, the campaign manager said, ‘He’s ahead in the polls, and this is too controversial, and he doesn’t want to go one way or the next.’”

McCain’s comments about the link with Autism is something that McCain talked about last year during the primary season.

IF what McCarthy is saying is the truth (and there’s no reason to think she’s not telling the truth) it makes you question McCain’s ability to stand behind his beliefs AND whether his dedication to the needs of special needs children is legitimate or politics. McCain doesn’t have to believe that there is a link between the shots and Autism to be in support of special needs children BUT the fact that he was touting that belief in the primary and now isn’t makes you wonder…..

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard McCarthy make this claim about the McCain campaign and they have yet to refute her comments.
