The government can’t get an oil well capped in the Gulf but they want to give the President the power to shut down the Internet?
It’s part of the powers that the Congress is trying to give the President and themselves in case we encounter an emergency and Superman’s not around. What about the Gulf oil spill ….. that seems like an emergency and it doesn’t seem like they’re doing so good there …..
I’d like to see a law passed that the government can’t extend their reach into our lives any further until they’ve got a grip on what they already have control over. When they can prove that they can handle the responsibilities that they have now …. then maybe we can discuss their quest for more power.
Here’s a starter list for them to work on:
- Iraq / Afghanistan
- The Gulf Oil Spill
- Our Education System
- Our Deficit
- The Economy
- Immigration
It’s just six items (not in any order) but I’m guessing it will keep them busy for a little while. Then when they have those areas squared away they’ll have proven they’re ready for more responsibilities.
Until then ……. they need to just stop!
